Healy Wedding

the blog

I’m so glad I could capture Melissa and Dan’s wedding day. These two were originally supposed to get married in April, but of course, had to postpone. They had to change so many plans, but were finally able to have the wedding day of their dreams.

The day started off with Melissa and Dan’s first look in the NewBo area of Cedar Rapids. We had plenty of time for their bride and groom portraits, bridal party portraits, and family portraits. Dan and his groomsmen looked classy in black tuxes, while the bridesmaids looked beautiful in their light green and light grey dresses. Although a lot of wedding days might seem rushed, I feel like we had a great time taking pictures and it was a nice relaxing morning. Even though it was cloudy all day, the rain held off until we were finished taking pictures outside.

Next it was time for the ceremony. The centerpiece of the ceremony was a beautiful arch decorated with greenery and flowers. One of my favorite parts of the ceremony was the ring bearer pulling the flower girl down the aisle in a cute pink carriage. Since these two are Melissa’s niece and nephew, it was an extra special moment to capture.

After the ceremony came the reception. Melissa and Dan thought of every detail to make sure all of their guests had a great time! They had games for the kids, lots of snacks and drinks, a great meal, a photo booth, and my favorite part – a caricature artist drawing caricatures of the guests to put in Melissa and Dan’s guest book.

Thanks so much for allowing me to capture your wedding, Melissa and Dan! Hope you guys enjoy the pictures.
