2020 in Review

the blog

2020 was quite the year to be a wedding photographer! Despite weddings being cancelled and rescheduled, I had a great year and am thankful for everyone who trusted me to capture their celebration. The year was a little different than I expected and I shot a lot more small celebrations than originally planned. I loved seeing the different creative ideas that my couples came up with to celebrate and get married despite the difficult times. Even though this year was a lot slower with weddings, it just means that I have even more big days to look forward to in 2021!

Besides just weddings, I was also able to continue to shoot lots of engagements and family sessions throughout the year. I especially loved capturing some families that I’ve gotten to take pictures of in previous years. It’s fun to see how the family grows as time goes on.

Personally, it was a very difficult year for Jake and me, as it was for most people. Even through the hard times, looking back we can see how God answered our prayers throughout the year and gave us many blessings despite the difficult times. We are thankful that Jake stayed busy with work and I’m also thankful to have started a new part time job as a content creator for a women’s health blog. My main responsibilities include video editing and food photography. While I’m still loving doing wedding and family photography, it’s nice to have some sort of stable income (because, you know, COVID) and I love the work I’m doing.

To everyone who supported my business this year, thank you! I love that I get to capture some of the most special times in people’s lives and hope I can continue for many more years. Your support means the world. I hope you enjoy looking over some of my favorite pictures from the year.
