2021 in Review

the blog

2021 was a great year! I was able to shoot 15 weddings, 20 families, and lots of engagement sessions. Looking back, I realized about 75% of my shoots this year were in September, October, and November. I’m not sure that I’ll ever cram that much work into such a short time again, but I’m thankful for all of the photography opportunities I had this year.

It was great to finally photograph some weddings that had to be rescheduled in 2020. Another favorite part of this year was getting to capture family pictures for former clients. I’m grateful for all of the couples and families that trust me to take their pictures year after year. It’s so fun to have a front row seat to watch these families grow!

One of the best parts of the year was having Jake as my assistant and second photographer for most weddings. While he’s just been an assistant in years past, this year I taught him how to shoot and he’s become a great second photographer. I’m beginning to wonder how I could shoot a wedding without him! Safe to say, he’ll be my go-to second photographer from now on.

When I wasn’t photographing weddings and shoots for Gigi Boucher Photography, I enjoyed my part time job as a food photographer. I was able to cook and photograph over 100 recipes in 2021! It’s been fun and rewarding to learn another avenue of photography.

Thanks to everyone who trusted me to capture their lives this past year! I’m so thankful I get to do what I love and I couldn’t do it without all my wonderful clients.
